Last Known Activity
Sgt. Richard Knapp was a draftee , entering the Army in July 1968.

He was a graduate of the NCO school, Class 25-69, graduating 31 March 1969.

He joined C Company, 2nd Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division 15 July, 1969.

At the time of his death, SSgt. Knapp was assigned to the company "Ready Reaction Force" and field logistics,.  Previously he had served as the Platoon Sergeant for 1st Platoon.
