SP4 Kearse served with D Company, 86th Engineer Battalion, 34th Engineer Group, 20th Engineer Brigade.

He drowned as the result of a bridge collapse.  He was initially listed as MIA.

He was interred in Masadonna Chrisitan Church Cemetery, Ehrhardt, South Carolina.

Note:  Unit was located in Vung Tau and then Bihn Thuy.
