He deployed from Ft Bragg NC in Mar 1969 with C Battery (The Griffins),4th Battalion, Airborne Rocket Artillery, 77th Field Artillery, 101st Airborne Division (Air Mobile);

In July he was reassigned to the Gun Plato...on (Mustangs), of the 68th Assault Helicopter Company (Top Tigers), 145th Combat Assault Battalion, based at Ben Hoa
