Last Known Activity
A 23 years old army officer from Idabel was listed by the defense department Wednesday as Oklahoma's latest Vietnam war casualty. He was 1st Lt. Edward F. Gutghrie, son of Mrs. Martha C. Guthrie of Idabel.

Lt. Guthrie died May 2 of bullet wounds received furing a combat mission near the DMZ, the family said.

He was a 1963 graduate of Idabel High School and attended Oklahoma State University. After receiving his commission in the national guard, he transferred to the army reserves and asked for active duty. Lt. Guthrie went to Vietnam las December.

Norwood-Welch Funeral Home in Idabel will be in charge of services.
