Danny was from a small village in West Texas by the name of Valentine, Texas. In the sixties, the population was 420. It was quite a distance to any town of any size. Danny was one of seven in his high school class at Valentine High School in 1966. He attended Sul Ross State University and was drafted into the Army. He was engaged to be married. He was killed driving a munition's truck when it hit a land mine. Danny is buried in Valentine, Texas.

Danny boy, No te olvido
Valentine, Texas: For CPL Flores, We love you and will never forget that you gave your life for all of us. In the last 35 years your memory has stayed just as fresh and beautiful as you were at 18. I want to say thank you for being the man you were at such a young age. Now you rest in peace and May God Bless you richly as you look upon His face and know I never look at the United States flag without knowing you gave your life that we may all continue to live free. I love you, Danny still on a Sunday morning, June 8, 2003
