In Vietnam, Lt. Few served with D Troop, 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division. His tour began on 7 March 1968.

According to source, he was killed along with SFC Donald E. Lisenby.  

Lt. Few was interred in Memorial Park Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas.
