Still in my heart
Posted for: DAN OWEN FELTS:
Dan, I will always cherish those last few minutes we had together at Hue City, We never did get to take that R&R we planned, you died the next day,no one will ever know how hard I cried. I pray America never forgets your sacrafice,You gave the ultimate gift, your life for their freedom,You are the best example of all that is good with our generation,I am so proud to have been your friend, perhaps one day we will meet again. The good really do die young. As you rest now protected in the arms of God, Know this, you live forever in my heart where I go so do you. You are always with me.

I miss Dan Felts. It seems the older I grow, the more often I think of him. He was not only handsome, but he was full of life and mischievousness. Most of my memories of Dan are of him laughing, telling stories and generally cutting-up. It has been over thirty years since he was killed, and I still find it very hard to believe. His death and that of Jeff Coffin represent the tragedy of the Vietnam War to me. To have known Dan was truly a blessing. I sincerely appreciate his service and sacrifice to his country, but I miss him. I pray that his family have peace and comfort. He is not by any means forgotten.

  My Hero
Posted for: DAN OWEN FELTS:

Dan and I were like brothers, and I still miss him so.
We worked, played, hunted, fished and even dated together. Dan was the Prom King at Flagstaff High School in 1968 and quite the man about campus. Once we started a land slide down past Red Rock Crossing that almost destroyed his parents summer home. Never forget the price some of us have paid. Thanks Dan, I love you.
PS My youngest son is named "Dan" and he tries to keep the tradition.
