Last Known Activity
Captain Eubanks' tour in Vietnam began 13 November 1971. He served with the 57th Assault Helicopter Company, 52nd Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, Camp Holloway, Pleiku, RVN. He attended Flight Class 71-26 at Fort Wolters.  

He was killed while serving as a pilot of a UH-1H t(#67-17446) on a re-supply mission for ARVN troops near Kontum City. The aircraft was shot down and he was trapped in the helicopter and burned to death. According to a buddy, "Joe was killed in "Kontum Province" just south of Kontum City and east of the Rockpile about 250 yds east of QL14."

He was interred in Concord Cemetery, Concord, North Carolina.
