Last Known Activity
Private First Class Martin was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. In Korea, he was a medic with the Medical Company, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division. He was listed as Missing in Action while tending his wounded comrades at the Changjin Reservoir near Hudong-ni, North Korea on December 2, 1950. He was presumed dead on December 31, 1953. His remains were not recovered. His remains were identified and accounted for on September 25, 2018 by the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA). His name is inscribed on the Courts of the Missing (Court 6) at the Honolulu Memorial.
