1Sgt Franklin East, Korean War Veteran, Vietnam War Veteran and Native of McComas, West Virginia.

1Sgt Franklin East was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, 1Sgt East served our country until April 28th, 1972 in Bien Hoa, South Vietnam. He was 40 years old and was married. It was reported that He died from a serious illness. He was born in McComas, West Virginia, on February 25th, 1972. His body was recovered. 1Sgt East is on panel 1W, line 009 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for more than 21 years.

1Sgt Franklin East is the Husband of Mrs Hildegard M. east of Columbus, Georgia. He is the Son of Mr Earnest Preston and Mrs Vivian Lou Cox East, McComas, West Virginia. He was the Father of Tammie Brown, Marvin, Linda and Franklin East.

1Sgt Franklin East served as The First Sergeant of Foxtrot Troop, 9th Cavalry, 1st Cavalry Division, USARV.

1Sgt Franklin East was awarded The Combat Infantryman’s Badge with One Star, The Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Service, The Army Commendation Medal with One Oak Leaf Cluster, The Air Medal with Two Devices, The Army Good Conduct Medal with Six Devices, The National Defense Service Medal, The Republic of Korea War Service Medal, The United Nations Service Medal, The Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Stars, The Korean Presidential Unit Citation, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
