Note received by profile administrator 6/6/2014 from fellow pilot who was there at the time:

"
Jeff was killed one morning while making a early morning sweep of the local area. He was shot in the head and later died at the hospital at Quin On. I'm sure the spelling isn't correct (Per Admin: should be Qui Nhon). Really nice kid. We all took it hard when he was killed. I served in the lift platoon and Jeff was a gunship pilot. I am Bruce Bramblett. I was a W01 at the time and we had recently moved from An Khe to Camp Holloway (Pleiku). I often think of Jeff and also Keith Jackson who was later killed in Laos on an FOB mission.
