Sp4 Bradley Chavis, Vietnam Veteran, Native of Pembroke, NC.

Specialist Four Bradley Chavis was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, SP4 Chavis served our country until February 26th, 1967 in Binh Duong, South Vietnam. He was 21 years old and was not married. It was reported that Bradley died from multiple fragmentation wounds from a mine. His body was recovered. SP4 Chavis is on panel 15E, line 094 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for one year.

He was my friend: Bradley was a very fun-loving,energtic, good ole guy. He was considered a ladies man always dancing with all the girls at all school functions. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Dianne Worriax, 1331 St Anna Rd, Pembroke, NC 28372.

He was the son of Mr Septer Chavis and Mrs Cora Lee Dial Chavis.

He served with Alpha Company, 4th Battalion, 9th Infantry Regiment, "Manchus", 25th Infantry Division, "Tropic Lightning", USARV.

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Silver Star Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
