Last Known Activity
Sgt. U.S. Army, {RA12757198}, Vietnam War-Sgt. Carew was killed in action by artillery & rocket fire on 8-30-1967 while serving with the 4th Platoon, 553rd Eng. Co., 577th Engineer Battalion, 35th Engineer Group, 18th Engineer Brigade. Sgt. Carew started his tour of Vietnam on 7-14-1967.

His body was claimed by his brother, Mr. Austin Carew, of 1683 Unionport Road, Bronx, New York, and he leaves one sister, Mrs. Regina Peters of Box 49, Lakeshore Road, Highland Lakes, New Jersey.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal with "V" Device, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
