Last Known Activity
SGT James A. Buckley and SGT Edward J. Boggess were infantrymen assigned to A Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry, 198th Infantry Battalion. On December 29, 1968, they were on a combat operation about 9 miles southeast of Tam Ky when a friendly ambush team mistook them for a hostile force and engaged them, fatally wounding both soldiers.
