Blast Kills I.F. Soldier
A young Ririe Army man was killed in an oil tank explosion in Viet Nam Saturday his parents were notified Monday. He was Spec 4 Arlo F. Brown 22, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Brown, Shelton, a community southwest of Ririe.

The Browns said an Army major notified them their son was killed by an explosion of an oil tank at Ben Hall, 17 miles from Saigon. He had only two weeks more to serve in Vietnam.  He was a member of the 193rd engineering Co. 4th Battalion and entered the Army 8 Apr 1965. He had gone to Vietnam a year ago.

He was born in Idaho Falls and graduated from Ririe High School in 1962 and attended Ricks College/BYU for one semester.  He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal last month.

Survivors besides the parents include brothers and sisters; Mrs. Dick (LaRae) Wheelr, Idaho Falls; Larry, Phoenix AZ; Mrs. Illene Broadhead, Santa Monica CA; Sandra and Neil, both at home.
