Last Known Activity

The loss of this young man, like so many, was and is another of those tragedies of war. He had so much to offer.  Now lost to the ages. . .

PFC Richard Boise was a member of Mortar Platoon, E Company, 1st Battalion, 11th Infantry Regiment Infantry that was in the process of being deployed to a new position by boat. As they progressed, the boat sank beneath them and five of the men drowned.

Richard left a wife that he had married shortly before he was drafted into the Army.

He was interred in Marion Cemetery,  Marion, Wayne County, New York, Lot: 980, Sec: 18, Row: 2, Grave: 9.
