Private Wheat was a member of the 24th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division. He was Killed in Action while fighting the enemy in North Korea on November 11, 1950. NKPA ambush of Company A and IR Platoon east of the Imjin River in the Yonchon Valley.
