Sgt. Bailey was killed in the shoot down of his OH-6A (#67-16193) . All three crewmen were killed in this loss: WO1 William J. Cahill, pilot, SP4 Douglas Strait, observer (MIA), SP4 Ray E. Bailey, gunner.
