BEFORE SERVING IN THE CHINA, BURMA, INDIA THEATER HE WAS FORT BENNING, GEORGIA; CAMP GRUBER, OKLAHOMA; AND THE PANAMA CANAL ZONE. AT THE TIME OF HIS DEATH IN HOSI, BURMA 1LT ADKINS WAS ASSIGNED TO HEADQUARTERS & HEADQUARTERS COMPANY, 3RD BATTALION, 475TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, MARS TASK FORCE.
