Casualty Occurence:

Major Robert Arnold served with the 334th Assault Helicopter Company, 145th Aviation Battalion, 12th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade in Long Khanh Province, South Vietnam. He began his tour on 3 September 1968.  He served as the Company Commander.  His first tour was in 1965 in Pleiku. He was KIA on his 2nd tour in RVN. 

He was piloting an AH-1G (tail number 67-15673) when he was shot down by 50 cal fire during night mission in the Bay of Reeds near Parrots Beak (mission in the vicinity of Xuan Loc) with his backseat pilot, Captain Johnny L. Bryant.  (His death is listed as "non-hostile" though he was on combat operations, in a fire fight when he when in.)
