Last Known Activity PFC MARVIN KENNETH "TIM" PHILLIPS ENTERED THE SERVICE ON 17 JANUARY 1944 AND SERVED IN EUROPE WITH COMPANY G, 406TH INFANTRY REGIMENT, 102ND INFANTRY DIVISION FROM 9 NOVEMBER 1944 TO 28 APRIL 1946. ON 6 MAY 1946 PFC PHILLIPS ARRIVED BACK IN THE STATES AND WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED AT FORT MEADE, MARYLAND ON THE 11TH OF MAY 1946. MARVIN PHILLIPS PASSED AWAY IN THOMAS, WV ON 5 APRIL 2003 AND WAS LAID TO REST AT THE BETHEL CEMETERY NEAR PARSONS, WV.
A son of the late Olyn B. Phillips and Cora Mae Biller Phillips. On Aug. 20, 1949, he married the former Marie Hile, who preceded him in death on May 15, 2002.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Olin, Charles and Harry Phillips; five sisters, Virginia, Leake, Margaret, Grace and Wanda; and a grandson, Justin Allen Bishoff.
Mr. Phillips served with the U.S. Army during World War II.
