On 6 June 1944, crew and passengers of a C-47 (tail Number 42-100905), 495th Troop Carrier Squadron, 440th Troop Carrier Group, 9th US Air Force departed England en route to the unit deployment over France on D-Day, took off from AAF Station 463 in Exeter, Devon, England to drop at 0140 over Albany. . This was "Chalk 15".
