Capt. Franklin B. Tostevin, U.S. Army, 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Group was born in Westfield, New Jersey, the son of Edwin Quayle Tostevin and Elizabeth Martha Tostevin. Franklin graduated from Westfield High School in 1940, and went to Union Junior College in Roselle and worked for Merck & Co. in Rahway. He enlisted in 1942 in the US Army Air Forces. He was killed on March 20, 1945, when his F-6P aircraft crashed near Eigen, Germany. He was accounted for Oct. 30, 2013. His awards include: Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with 12 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Purple Heart. He will be buried with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado on Dec. 13, 2013.
