Last Known Activity
Sgt. Gipson served with L Company, 3rd Battalion, 34th Infantry Regiment, 24th Infantry Division. His unit entered combat in Korea on 3 July 1950.

On 20 July, his unit was located along the Kapchon River west of Taejon, astride the Kongju Road when they were attacked. He was captured near Taejon, South Korea when his unit was literally overwhelmed by the North Koreans.  He died as a POW on 28 October 1950.

He remains MIA.
