PRIVATE JOHN RALLINO NORRIS JR. SON OF JOHN SR. AND JULIA NORRIS OF BERKELEY COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA DIED IN LORRAINE, FRANCE ON 16 MAY 1945 OF NON-BATTLE CAUSES. PVT NORRIS SERVED WITH THE 1553RD ENGINEER HEAVY PONTON BATTALION IN EUROPE. THE 1553RD WAS ONE OF THE ALL AFRICAN AMERICAN UNITS WHO SERVED IN THE ETO. PVT NORRIS WAS LAID TO REST AT THE LORRAINE AMERICAN CEMETERY IN FRANCE.
