ALEXANDER – Albert N. Baldwin, 87, of Alexander, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Elderberry Healthcare. Mr. Baldwin was born June 3, 1925 in Buncombe County. He was a very compassionate man and lived life to the fullest. He always had a loving smile for everyone. Mr. Baldwin was a veteran of the US Army serving during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Dollie Ollis Baldwin; and several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Barbara Davis Baldwin, of the home; daughters, Willie Ogle, Rebecca Griffin and her husband, Donnie; son, Robert Reece and his wife, Rachel; grandchildren, Scott Profitt, James Gosnell and his wife, Katrina, and Beatrice Reece; great-grandchildren, James Gosnell, Jr., and Samantha Gosnell; sister, Georgia Lindsey; brothers, Danny Joe, Ralph and Richard Baldwin; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2012 in the chapel of Madison Funeral Home. The Reverends Mac Revis and Buddy Freeman will officiate. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Madison Funeral Home.
