Last Known Activity
TSgt. Emmett Wise was inducted into the Army on 5 March 1941.  

He served with the 184th Infantry Regiment, 7th Infantry Division.

In 15 August 1943, he participated as part of the 7th Infantry Division in the invasion of Kiska, Aleutian Islands, Alaska.  

Following this, beginning on 1 February 1944, he took part  in the capture of Kwajalien Atoll, Marshall Islands (Eastern Mandates) with the 184th Regimental Combat Team, 7th Infantry Division.   

He was with C Company, 184th Infantry Regiment, in the invasion of Leyte Island, Philippines that began on 17 October 1944.  He was killed in action during this operation on 23 October 1944. 

TSgt. Wise was interred on Leyte (no other information as to disposition).  He has a memorial in Kirk Cemetery,  Kirk, Yuma County, Colorado, Plot: block 3, lot 14.

He left a wife and young son at his passing in Napa, California.
