HE SERVED IN NORTH AFRICA AND EUROPE FROM 6 AUGUST 1942 TO 24 APRIL 1945. HE WAS HONORABLY DISCHARGED ON 16 JUNE 1945 AND RETURNED TO WEST VIRGINIA. THE SOCIAL SECURITY DEATH INDEX LISTS HIS DATE OF PASSING AS FEBRUARY 1982.
