Killed in action when an enemy panzerfaust shell came through a window he was standing near, 20 Feb 1945, Wincheringen, Germany, on a raid across the Moselle River from Flaxweiler, Luxembourg. Buried at Luxembourg American Cemetery, Plot 1, Row 12, Grave 1.

Member of Troop A, 2d Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron, 2d Cavalry Group (Mecz).
