Comments/Citation
Hawkins Barracks in Oberammergau, Germany is named in his honor. Hawkins Barracks was the home of the Headquarters, US Army School Europe from the 1950s to the 1980s.  It is now home of the NATO School. A large statute in his honor was just inside the main gate.
