Last Known Activity
Lt. Boutelle (Boutwell) was killed in action leading the Macabebe Scouts on 2 November 1899 at Aliaga, Central Luzon, Philippine Islands during the Moro War.

He served with the Battery H, 3rd U.S. Artillery Regiment in Caloocan, Manilla, Ritzal Province, Philippines. (At one point served with Company A, 14th Infantry Regiment (December 1898, Manilla, P.I.) He was engaged in several combat operations.

His father was the famous Frazier Augustus Boutelle.
