Last Known Activity
Cpl. Butler enlisted on 2 February 1950.

In Korea, he served with C Company, 1st Battalion, 19th Infantry Regiment. He was wounded on 8 August 1950 and returned to duty on 2 October 1950. He was listed as MIA while fighting with the enemy on 1 January 1951 northeast of Seoul, South Korea,  when he became separated from his unit.  He was believed to have been captured, shot and, buried near the village of Chik-Tong-ni, South Korea.

His remains were identified on 3 May  2010 and he was interred in Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia., 10 August 2015.
