In my library I have a copy of the 1994 West Point Register of Graduates which provides some biographical information based on West Point's records. In regard to Captain Almond I found that he is listed as having been awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and Two Purple Hearts. It also states he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, and served as Company Commander Co. L of the 157th Infantry Regiment, 45th Division.
