Cpt. Cory J. Jenkins According to unit records, Jenkins was commissioned Oct. 6, 2007. He attended the Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course at Fort Sam Houston, Texas before he was assigned to Fort Lewis, Wash., on March 7, 2009, where he was assigned to 1st Battalion, 17th Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade, 2nd Infantry Division as a Physician Assistant. This was his first deployment.

Jenkin's civilian and military education includes a Bachelor of Science, Brigham Young University (2003), Master of Science , A.T. Still University (2007), the Army Medical Department Officer Basic Course (2007), Tactical Combat Medical Course (2007), and Airborne qualification course (2008). His awards and decorations include National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Field Medical Badge, and Parachutist Badge.
