Private Joseph Brennan enlisted from Jamaica, New York on 16 May 1941.

He served with Co "B" 803rd Engineer Aviation Battalion in the Philippines.  Once the attack by the Japanese began, the 803rd served as combat troops, and repaired roads, runways, and building defensive positions..

He was killed while being held a prisoner of the Japanese at Camp O'Donnell, Luzon, Philippines.
