"Not For Fame or Reward

But In Simple Obedience To
Duty as They Understood It
 
The 35th Infantry Regiment Association salutes SP4 Amalio Pagan-Pagan, who died in the service of his country on March 27th, 1967 in Binh Dinh Province, South Vietnam. The cause of death was listed as Friendly Fire. At the time of his death Amalio was 21 years of age. He was from Rio Piedras, Prince Edward Island

The decorations earned by SP4 Amalio Pagan-Pagan include: the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Purple Heart, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Unit Citation.
 
Amalio was mistaken for an enemy and shot by friendly-fire, most likely small arms rifle, when re-entering the perimeter.  He was wounded on March 26 and died the next day, March 27, 1967"
 
The Bronze Star for Merit was awarded posthumous
 
Amalio died during the U.S. Army’s Operation Pershing, in U.S. Military Region 2, Binh Dinh Province, Republic of South Vietnam.
