Hero
Craig was in my machine gun squad. The day he died we were caught in an ambush. We were pinned down and the point man had been hit and was across a clearing. The LT called for someone to help him go across the clearing and help get the point man.Graig jump up from next to me before I could grab him and took off with the LT. They got the point man and were almost back across when both of them got hit.
I don't know if the point man made it or not, I can't remember his name, but I'll never forget Graig.

What a great friend-in-arms Craig was... We were on Nui Ba Den Mountain together in Tay Ninh just months before. I remember so vividly filling out my absentee ballot for Richard Nixon while Craig was getting the envelope for me to place it in for mailing. Then, not long after, that terrible January 7th day in '69. I recall the medical team coming to me when being treated in the field hospital, and asking me to come and ID Craig. We were all so young... and just took it one day at a time. CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE..

Mom's little Brother
It is strange that I think often of a man I have never met in life. My Mom's little brother Craig is brought up often in the Olson family. He was a little brother who to this day leaves a huge impact on the entire family and community as well. He sounded like he was a very sweet soul and anybody who knew him loved him. It must be true, this young man even in death has brought tears to my eyes and love to my heart knowing just what this country and his loved ones meant to him. Never forgotten, always remembered Thank you Uncle Craig and thank you to all that have posted something on his wall it means more that you'll ever know.
