Arlan Gable was the gunner on a tank on a combat support mission when it hit a hostile mine. He was killed by the explosion.

Comments/Citation:

Some other sources (DA2496 and DD1330 as well as his grave marker) show that Arlan Gable served with C Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Infantry of the 4th Infantry Division, while Coffelt shows he served with C Troop, 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry of the 25th Infantry Division.

It's been determined that someone who served with Arlan in Nam (Richard Gardner) was also in C Troop, 3rd Sqdn, 4th Cav of the 25th ID.  This confirms that Coffelt is Correct.
