ROBERT SHERMAN⁴ MONTGOMERY  (ROBERT³, ISAAC², ISAAC¹) was born 12 Jan 1894 in Near Milan, Sullivan County, Missouri¹, died of broncho pneumonia 12 Mar 1920 in Fort Sheridan, Il. He was wounded in the right shoulder by a machine gun at the battle of Chateau Thiery, France. Died 12 March 1920; Father, Robert Montgomery, Milan, MO

There was a lot of interest in the life of Robert Sherman Montgomery from my family. I’ve gathered as much information as I could find on him to included some hometown newspaper clippings, a post card and an excerpt from the New Times article, circa September 1918, about the Battle of Chateau Thierry. I was very surprised, and proud to find that both Great Uncle Sherman and I served in the same combat unit, 4^th ID, just ninety years apart. {SFC John Hernandez}
