Two Island's Men Die In Vietnam.
    Mercer Island's Darryl W. Wright, 23, and Michael D. Frost, 21, lost their lives in Vietnam, Darryl on 6 Mar (1968) and Michael on 2 Mar (1968), according to Defense Department Information.
    Darryl who was graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1963, was in his senior year majoring in forest products at the University of Washington when he was drafted into the Army last July. Previously, he had attended Olympic College for two years.
      The two men knew each other, and their Army careers were parallel. Both trained at Ft. Lewis, then underwent advanced infantry training in jungle warfare at Ft. Polk, LA. They spent the latter part of November on leave at their homes on Mercer Island, and went to Viet Nam in early December.
    Darryl was the son of Mr. and Mrs. L. Burgess Wright, who have lived on Mercer Island since 1947. Darryl was born in Seattle. His brother Michael 27, and his parents survive. Services for Darryl Wright were held Tuesday at Bonney Watson Central Funeral Home; afterwards he was buried with military honors in Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue WA.
