CPL James William Tuck, Jr, Vietnam Veteran, and native of Bryson City, NC.

Corporal James William Tuck Jr was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army Selective Service and a Draftee, CPL Tuck served our country until February 4th, 1969 in Binh Duong, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and was married. It was reported that James died from small arms fire or grenade. His body was recovered. CPL Tuck is on panel 33W, line 059 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for less than a year.

He served with Delta Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, "The Blue Spaders" 1st Infantry Division, "The Big Red One".

Service Number:  53758981

He was awarded The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Bronze Star Medal, The Army Commendation Medal, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.

CPL Tuck was buried at Swain Memorial Park in Bryson City, North Carolina.  Find A Grave Memorial:
