Last Known Activity

Last Rites Held For Maj. Elrod, Vietnam Casualty.
Major William C. Elrod, Jr., has been reported killed in action in the Republic of Vietnam, on April 14, 1971. At the time of his death, he had been in Vietnam for eight months and was assigned as SENIOR ADVISOR TO A SOUTH VIETNAMESE Infantry Battalion.
Major Elrod, born September 8, 1940 is survived by his wife, Claudia; a son, Cary; two daughters, Anne Lynn and Allison, who currently reside in Columbus, Ga. and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William C. Elrod, Sr. of Byromville, Ga.

Major Elrod was interred at the FORT BENNING CEMETERY following services at the Episcopal Church in Montezuma, Monday, April 26, 1971.
